Sustainable solutions for an environmentally responsible future

Sustainability and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are key issues of our time, raising awareness of the responsible use of resources and the promotion of fair and environmentally friendly development.

The 17 SDGs launched by the United Nations provide a comprehensive framework for tackling global challenges such as poverty, inequality and climate change. Companies, governments and individuals alike are called upon to do their part to ensure a sustainable future for generations to come. In this context, sustainable practices and innovations are essential to harmonise economic, environmental and social goals.

Our company is strongly committed to complying with and promoting the guiding principles of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In this context, we have implemented various measures that make a sustainable contribution to environmental protection and resource conservation.

About the SDG

High-quality education worldwide

All people should receive inclusive, equitable and quality education. The international community has committed to this in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

Equality between women and men

In Germany, legal equality between women and men has been achieved, but actual equality in everyday life remains a task. Progress has been made worldwide, but significant barriers remain.

Sufficient water of the best quality

A safe supply of clean water is essential for a healthy and dignified life. The United Nations has therefore recognised access to clean drinking water and sanitation as a human right. Germany is committed globally and at home.

Affordable and clean energy

Energy is fundamental to economic and social development. Clean energy sources are crucial for environmental and climate protection.

Sustainable management as an opportunity for all

Globalisation offers many opportunities for greater prosperity. The German government expects all companies to fulfil their human rights due diligence obligations - both in Germany and in their global business activities.

Industry, innovation and infrastructure

Sustainable economic growth, production, cities, education and healthcare systems require intelligent innovations, modern infrastructures and an efficient industry.

More equality

We are all equal before the law and have equal opportunities in terms of access to education, healthcare and social and economic participation.

Sustainable cities and communities

As every second person lives in the city and the influx continues, we need affordable housing and a sustainable urban development policy for a good future.

Sustainable production and consumption

In order to live well in the future, we need to change our consumption and production techniques. Important measures include rules for the use of limited resources and the protection of labour, health and the environment.

Implementing climate protection worldwide

Climate change is causing extreme weather, rising sea levels, withering harvests and uninhabitable areas, forcing people to migrate. The international community must work together to significantly limit climate change.

Promoting strong and transparent institutions

Development requires a secure environment and institutions based on the rule of law. Peace, justice and the rule of law require good governance without corruption.

Partnerships to achieve the goals

Everyone is responsible for the global common good according to their own capabilities. This requires mutual respect, shared values and the combined efforts of all.

Examples of our commitment

As part of our modernisation measures, we have also carried out extensive renovations to our façades. These measures are aimed at improving the energy efficiency of our buildings and thus reducing the consumption of resources. Thanks to improved insulation and the use of environmentally friendly building materials, we were able to significantly reduce the energy required for heating and cooling.

A key step in our sustainability strategy was the installation of e-fuelling stations. This promotes the use of electric vehicles and thus supports the reduction of CO2 emissions. We have also converted our vehicle fleet to hybrid vehicles, which utilise the advantages of both electric and combustion engines and thus make an important contribution to reducing fuel consumption and emissions.

Another important project was the conversion of all our lighting to LED technology. LEDs consume significantly less energy than conventional light bulbs and have a longer lifespan, which reduces both energy consumption and maintenance costs.

We also only use green electricity and gas. This means that our energy supply comes from renewable sources, which helps us to further reduce our ecological footprint and make a positive contribution to the energy transition.
