Founded in the town of Ahlen in 1891, our head office remains to this day in Ahlen in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia in Germany. Despite our strong internationalisation, it is important to us to create regional added value at our headquarters. By retaining a local reference to our beginnings, we have a strong foundation for future growth. Today, the head office, the research & development centre and the production hall are located in the Feldstrasse.
In 2018, we significantly expanded our production capacity to cope with the increasing demand for Leifeld machines. A 3,600 square metre assembly hall has been built in the Vatheuershof business park, not far from the company headquarters. The modern building is technically and structurally dimensioned for large, heavy machinery. It has reinforced foundations, particularly deep pits, large assembly areas, and is equipped with the necessary heavy-duty cranes. It therefore represents a major investment in the company’s future growth.
Founded in 1994 as ‘Leico USA Corp.’, the company was purchased by Leifeld in 2015 and renamed ‘Leifeld USA’. We can now look back on a presence of more than 20 years on the American market. Our subsidiary is located in Livonia, MI and has its own assembly hall; the general manager Ralf Günnewig has worked for Leifeld for more than 30 years now. His team consists of sales, service and technical experts who are extremely familiar with the American, Canadian and Mexican forming market and possess a wide-ranging know-how, making the company a reliable partner for our American customers. As the only company operating in the sector, we offer a full range of services here that includes the most comprehensive spare parts warehouse in North America.
Since 2011, Leifeld has also had a subsidiary in Shanghai to serve the China and Taiwan region. It offers new machines, service, spare parts and repairs, inspections, and retrofits of used machines. To ensure the comprehensive Leifeld service, we employ two engineers locally who are fully familiar with our solutions: one German engineer in Shanghai and a Chinese engineer in Shijiazhuang City. Customers can pay for our service activities in Chinese currency.
In regions that are not serviced by our own companies, we are represented through an extensive network of professionals from the metal forming sector. Our agents have mainly been partners for many years, so they know our solutions in detail and advise you at the highest level.
